Providenciales in Turks and Caicos Named World’s Top Island for Vacationers
Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos is TripAdvisor’s 2015 pick for the world’s top island by TripAdvisor.
The new “best island” title holder, Providenciales is one of six main islands in the Caicos group of the Turks and Caicos Islands just east of the Bahamas. Providenciales had been the #2 “best island” in 2014, but this year bumped Ambergris Caye in Belize out of the top spot.

TripAdvisor had this to say about what makes our own island of Providenciales so special:
The diving and snorkeling in Providenciales is as convenient as it is stunning, thanks to miles of coral reef that’s easily accessible from the shore. The upscale resorts and captivating beachscapes of Grace Bay make it a popular choice for waterfront escapes. The cliffs and crags of Chalk Sound make a lovely backdrop for kayaking the bright turquoise waters.
Winning islands were determined by TripAdvisor using an algorithm that looked at the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and opinions for hotels, attractions and restaurants on each island gathered during a 12-month period.
