For many people, shopping is recreation. After you have relaxed in the sun here on Providenciales, there are plenty of opportunities to browse what’s for sale in the shops .
The Grace Bay area features a variety of places to shop, including Caicos Café Plaza, La Petite Place, Ports of Call, Regent Village, The Saltmills, Graceway Plaza, and Central Square.
The Venetian resort is just a short five- to ten-minute drive from all of these locations, making planning a shopping expedition fun and easy.
Turks and Caicos is unique in that there is no sales or luxury tax. This makes it a great place to save when buying watches, jewellry, cameras, perfumes and more. There are duty-free shops at most of the shopping centers on Providenciales, including Regent Village and The Saltmills, and Grace Bay Village.
Jai’s Duty Free in Regent Village is a popular stop, and there are also duty free shops in Providenciales International Airport (PLS).
One popular duty-free item in Turks and Caicos is Bambarra rum.
Located in the Regent Village, Grace Bay, FOTTAC offers a wide variety of Bambarra branded items. There is of course the famous Bambarra Rum for sale along with three flavours of Rum Cakes. Also you will find many condiments, such as hot sauces, jerk rubs, jellies and jams.

Did you know Turks and Caicos is one of the few countries in the world where you can buy conch shells? Visitors are allowed to return home with three each, as long as you provide receipts.
There are other interesting local arts and crafts for sale in Grace Bay Village, including locally-produced jewellry and traditional arts and crafts such as woven baskets, bowls and hats, and pottery.

Graceway Gourmet is a fully-stocked grocery store that carries many special items and options; it is akin to North America’s Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s chains.
Many tourists are concerned that when they travel to the Turks and Caicos they will either be locked into eating every night at pricey restaurants, or they will be stuck with “island food;” expired cans of tuna from the bare shelves of a gas station. But Graceway Gourmet gives visitors the option to stock their kitchens full of groceries and to prepare healthy and tasty meals, if that’s what they so choose.
